There’s just so much shady shit in this story, but this really sticks out. Folks in NLRB’s IT unit were so freaked out by what they saw DOGE doing that they wanted to notify the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. Then this happened:

The Supreme Court accepted the submissions of the GC orgs before it that bringing trans people with a GRC within the definition of man or women would create absurdities. But it refused to hear from anyone pointing out the absurdities of excluding them - that's why trans representation matters.

"This GRC changes your sex in law for all purposes except the Equality Act, when your sex shall be determined by Great British Common Sense"

More importantly, this will not remove existing protections under, for instance the Equality Act 2010 for trans people. They exist regardless of a GRC and at any stage of transition. This ruling, as evil, calculated and destructive as it is, does not remove that.

But remember where the GRC came from, right. A ECHR ruling. Whatever process steps will change on GRCs off the back of this will *not* comply with a higher court. So it's going to create an utter, massive clusterfuck that will then need to be sorted out through more cases. Which might be the point.

Well, I guess this makes up my mind on whether or not to get a GRC.
